Record rainfall in Japan results in fatalities and thousands stranded

At least four people have died and one is missing due to severe flooding in Japan’s Chiba prefecture, near Tokyo, following record rainfall. Over 400,000 residents were ordered to evacuate as flood risks persisted, even as rainfall began to ease.
