SIM-linking remains; government considers extending auto logout time
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The government is steadfast in enforcing its SIM-binding rule for messaging apps to mitigate cyber fraud and foreign intelligence risks, despite resistance from the industry. While the SIM-binding requirement remains unchanged, authorities are considering extending the auto-logout duration for web sessions from six hours to a maximum of 24 hours to alleviate user workflow disruptions. This adjustment aims to balance security concerns with user convenience. Overall, the government prioritizes cybersecurity while addressing industry feedback.
