Court Orders Ignored, Pollution Levels Remain Unchanged
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court acknowledged its limitations in combating air pollution in Delhi-NCR, noting that past judicial efforts have had little impact due to poor implementation of orders. Senior advocate Aparajita Singh highlighted the urgency of enforcing existing rulings, while Chief Justice Surya Kant emphasized the need for expert involvement to identify pollution causes and long-term solutions. The court will hear the matter again on Monday, stressing the importance of coordinated, year-round action from government authorities. CJI Kant noted that the blame for pollution cannot solely rest on farm fires, reflecting a broader understanding of the issue’s complexity.
