GHMC Worker Assaulted on Bridge in Hyderabad

A 51-year-old sanitation worker with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was raped by a 45-year-old watchman on a foot over bridge in Erragadda while en route to her job early Friday morning. The accused, who was under the influence of alcohol, threatened her before the assault and fled the scene. Following the incident, the survivor contacted her family and reported the crime to nearby police, leading to the arrest of the suspect. A case has been registered under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the survivor has received medical support and counseling.
