UPI Daily Transaction Limit Increased to Rs 5 Lakhs for Select Categories

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has raised the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transaction limit to Rs 5 lakh for tax-related payments and Rs 10 lakh for select categories like insurance and capital markets, effective September 15. These changes aim to facilitate high-value digital transactions, with updated guidelines requiring merchants to be “Verified Merchants” while allowing banks to set their own internal limits.
