SC Proposes AI Monitoring for CCTV in Police Stations
In response to rising custodial deaths, the Supreme Court (SC) of India suggested using AI to monitor CCTV cameras in police stations, ensuring alerts for any malfunctions. The court, addressing a suo motu case after a report highlighted 11 deaths in custody in Rajasthan, emphasized the need for effective implementation of its 2020 directive for CCTV installation across all police stations and central agencies.
