Chief Justice B R Gavai commented on the retirement of Justice Sureshwar Thakur, stating that all his judgments overturned by the Supreme Court indicated a troubling trend, particularly in a recent murder case appeal. The perplexing language and reasoning in Thakur’s rulings led both the CJI and advocates to agree that the Haryana government’s appeal against an acquittal should be re-evaluated by the High Court.
