BJP president JP Nadda criticized the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) signed by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1960, calling it a “biggest blunder” that compromised India’s water security by giving Pakistan 80% of the Indus basin waters without parliamentary consultation. He praised Prime Minister Modi for putting the treaty in abeyance, asserting it rectifies a historical mistake made by Congress.
