In Banaskantha, Gujarat, 18-year-old Chandrika Chaudhary was allegedly murdered by her uncle and father in an honour killing, fearing her ambition to pursue a medical career would bring shame to the family. After she excelled in her NEET exams, her uncle sedated her and strangled her, attempting to stage the death as a suicide, but a habeas corpus petition revealed the truth.
