Govt doesn't take stand on matters of faith, says MEA on Dalai succession issue

India has reiterated that it does not take a position on the succession of the Dalai Lama, despite a minister expressing personal support for the Dalai Lama’s wishes. This clarification follows China’s warning to India against interference in Tibetan affairs, a comment that was later removed from their official briefing transcript.
