PUNE: NCP chief Ajit Pawar defended his decision to join the BJP-led NDA, stating that remaining in opposition is not enough for politicians. He emphasized that the party’s secular ideology still stands, aiming for development while acknowledging past compromises, like the 2019 alliance with Shiv Sena. Additionally, he warned that party members involved in criminal activities would face consequences, as the NCP celebrates its 26th foundation day separately after a split in 2023.
