Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is reportedly using a customised version of the Grok chatbot, developed by his AI startup xAI, to analyze US government data without formal approval, raising concerns about conflicts of interest and data security. Insiders claim that DOGE is expanding Grok’s use, even encouraging Department of Homeland Security officials to adopt it, which may risk exposing sensitive information and giving Musk an unfair competitive advantage in federal contracting. However, a DHS spokesperson denied these claims, asserting that DOGE is focused on combating waste, fraud, and abuse.
