NEW DELHI: YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra’s father, Harish Malhotra, reversed his earlier defense of her trips to Pakistan, claiming he was unaware of her travel, insisting she told him she was going to Delhi. Jyoti, arrested under the Official Secrets Act, allegedly communicated with a Pakistani official and traveled to Pakistan twice, raising concerns she was being groomed by Pakistani operatives. Despite her father’s claims that her trips were for her YouTube work, police indicated she was part of a network influencing pro-Pakistan narratives online.
