Key planning group sets ball rolling for Rishikesh bypass construction

The Network Planning Group has initiated the Rishikesh bypass construction in Uttarakhand, evaluating an 11-km elevated section to enhance access without traffic junctions for routes towards Char Dhams. The project, costing approximately Rs 1,500 crore, includes a 6/4-lane elevated corridor and aims to alleviate projected traffic growth by providing direct access from Jolly Grant airport and eliminating railway crossings. Future phases of the project will involve five tunnels to further improve traffic management and capacity.
