The Trump administration has reinstated the SEVIS records of 133 students, including many Indians, following a US district court ruling that mandated the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to restore their records retroactively to March 31, 2025. Charles Kuck, representing the students, confirmed their reinstatement, allowing them to continue studying or working under the optional practical training (OPT) program, while the next hearing is scheduled soon. Despite some visa revocations, the plaintiffs argue that SEVIS termination poses significant immigration risks, contradicting government claims that such terminations do not affect legal status.
