NEW DELHI: Tamil Nadu BJP vice president Narayanan Thirupathy criticized the DMK government for placing a temple ‘gopuram’ over the burial site of former chief minister M. Karunanidhi at Marina Beach, calling it an “assault on the faith and beliefs of Hindus.” He urged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to remove the gopuram, warning that disrespecting Hindu sentiments could lead to the DMK’s downfall in future elections. Thirupathy labeled the DMK as anti-Hindu and asserted that they would be voted out soon.
