Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose opposes Didi's 17 VC picks, gives documents to SC

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose opposes CM Mamata Banerjee’s choices for vice-chancellors of 17 state-run universities, including Calcutta University and Jadavpur University, based on a panel selected by Justice UU Lalit. The Governor submitted his objections to the Supreme Court in a sealed cover, which were not known during the April 2 hearing, prompting the court to request a resolution within two weeks to avoid further intervention. The Raj Bhavan’s media cell stated that 19 out of 36 appointments were already approved, with the remaining 17 pending further review by the Governor.
