West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose opposes CM Mamata Banerjee’s choices for vice-chancellors of 17 state-run universities, including Calcutta University and Jadavpur University, based on a panel selected by Justice UU Lalit. The Governor submitted his objections to the Supreme Court in a sealed cover, which were not known during the April 2 hearing, prompting the court to request a resolution within two weeks to avoid further intervention.
