'Drunk' film director rams SUV into Kolkata market; 1 dead, 8 injured

In Thakurpukur, Kolkata, a drunk driver crashed his SUV into a crowded market, killing a 63-year-old vegetable seller and injuring eight others. The driver, Siddhant Das, was thrashed by residents before police arrived and arrested him. Witnesses reported that Das was drunk, lost control of his vehicle, and plowed through pedestrians and parked two-wheelers before being apprehended by authorities.
