During an ongoing operation in Kathua district, Jammu, three J&K policemen and two terrorists were killed, while two others, including a DySP, were injured. The gunfight began near Jalhole village, in the Ghati Juthana area of Rajbagh, as forces deployed by J&K Police Director General Nalin Prabhat and Inspector General of Police Bhim Sen Tuti engaged in the encounter with infiltrators, investigating whether they were the same group that evaded a cordon earlier in Hiranagar. The operation involved a week-long effort with the deployment of various security forces, including CRPF, BSF, NSG, elite Army para commandos, drones, sniffer dogs, and aerial surveillance, leading to the deadly confrontation.
