India successfully test fires surface-to-air missile from Odisha coast

India successfully conducted a flight test of the indigenously-developed Vertically-Launched Short-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (VLSRSAM) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, Odisha. The test, carried out by the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Navy, validated the missile’s Near-Boundary-Low Altitude capability against a high-speed aerial target. The test confirmed the system’s agility, reliability, and pinpoint accuracy, with all weapon system elements performing as expected in combat configuration.
