A Bangladeshi smuggler died and a BSF jawan was injured in a clash along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura. The incident occurred when a group of Bangladeshi smugglers intruded into Indian territory near the BOP at Putia, attacking the BSF patrol party and attempting to take their weapons. In self-defence, the jawan fired a non-lethal round, injuring the smuggler who later succumbed to his injuries, while the injured jawan is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
