Semiconductor policy important to improve India's defence manufacturing: Navy chief

Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi emphasized the importance of India’s semiconductor policy in enhancing defence manufacturing and urged the private sector to lead efforts towards achieving self-reliance. The Ministry of Defence has allocated Rs 450 crore for the iDEX scheme to support innovation by startups and SMEs. Admiral Tripathi highlighted the Navy’s collaborative approach with industry, aiming to shift from being customers to partners and setting up task forces to enhance technological capabilities.
