Govt starts process of procuring surveillance helicopters for high altitude areas

The Indian government is procuring 1,000 surveillance helicopters and accessories for operations up to 5,500 metres above sea level, in line with the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ programs. The Indian Army also aims to acquire 50 heavy-duty crawler rock drills for infrastructure development in challenging terrains. These initiatives demonstrate a commitment to self-reliance and strengthening national security capabilities.
