Aero India 2025: India opens air show with eye on boosting defence manufacturing and exports

India is ramping up manufacturing and exports of defence equipment to counter China’s military strength in South Asia, according to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. With domestic defence manufacturing projected to reach 1.25 trillion rupees and exports exceeding 210 billion rupees, India aims to further increase these figures in the upcoming years. The country’s strategic goal is to enhance its defence capabilities and influence in the region through a robust defence industry.
