India and France are strengthening maritime cooperation to enhance security and peace in the Indian Ocean Region, with New Delhi set to lead the Indian Ocean Rim Association in 2025. The two countries have agreed to assess threats to maritime security and collaborate on countering illicit activities, including piracy, terrorism, and marine pollution. Additionally, they aim to ensure free access to sea lanes and are preparing for Prime Minister Modi’s visit to France for the AI Summit in February.
