A ceasefire in the Gaza Strip went into effect after a delay due to Hamas not naming the three hostages they plan to release. The ceasefire, brokered by the US, Qatar, and Egypt, aims to halt the 15-month conflict and release hostages held by militants in Gaza and Palestinians imprisoned by Israel. Israel agreed to the deal, which started at 11:15 a.m. local time, after Hamas cited “technical field reasons” for the delay in naming the hostages.
