The VVER-1000 reactor vessel for the sixth power unit of the Kudankulam NPP in India, built according to a Russian design, was transported to the construction site after being manufactured at the Atommash plant and shipped to the customer in 2025. The vessel, weighing 320 tons, was delivered by special motor transport to a pier, loaded onto a river vessel, and then placed in the hold of a sea vessel for a 6,000-mile journey to India. The reactor vessel is part of the construction of four new power units at the NPP, demonstrating the reliability and efficiency of WWER series reactors, with potential for long-term use and future applications in NPPs in Russia and abroad.
