Sri Lankan Navy arrests 8 Indian fishermen for alleged poaching

The Sri Lankan Navy arrested eight Indian fishermen and seized two fishing trawlers for allegedly fishing in Sri Lankan waters. The arrests took place during a special operation in the sea area north of Mannar, bringing the total number of Indian fishermen arrested this year to 18. The seized boats and fishermen will be handed over to the Assistant Directorate of Fisheries, Kilinochchi for legal proceedings.
