The regular supply of GE 404 engines for indigenous light combat aircraft (LCA) will commence in March next year after delays caused by disrupted supply chains. The delays in LCA Mk1A deliveries are attributed to the bankruptcy of a South Korean defense firm, necessitating GE to establish alternative suppliers and resulting in a two-year delay. Despite the setbacks, India is continuing LCA production to meet IAF requirements, with 14 airframes and integrated systems expected to be completed this financial year.
