Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Complex in Gujarat’s Vadodara, which will manufacture India’s first privately built C-295 aircraft. The facility, the subcontinent’s first private-sector Final Assembly Line (FAL) for military aircraft, is part of India’s pursuit of ‘Atmanirbharta’ in defence, with the first locally-produced aircraft set for completion by September 2026. PM Modi highlighted the significance of the new manufacturing facility in strengthening India-Spain relations and advancing the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ mission, emphasizing the potential for future exports of the C-295 aircraft.
