A Tararua District Council employee received a written warning for not escalating the discovery of a dead possum in a Woodville drinking water reservoir, which was reported to the national Water Services Authority, Taumata Arowai, by a member of the public about 11 days later. This incident, noted in the 2024 Drinking Water Regulation Report, marked the first instance of such a warning being issued by the authority.
