A 20-year-old Southland man, Aron Templeton, has been convicted of manslaughter in relation to a crash that resulted in the death of his friend, Jack Victor Hugh Stephens, also 20. Templeton pleaded guilty to manslaughter and causing injury while driving with excess blood alcohol during a hearing at the Invercargill High Court. An alternative charge of causing death while driving under the influence was withdrawn following his guilty pleas.
