The Zambia women’s national team removed their four U.S.-based players from the squad for the Yongchuan International Tournament in China due to concerns over U.S. travel measures, with the players staying back in the United States. The decision was made amidst the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration and potential travel bans, prompting uncertainty for foreign athletes traveling abroad. Meanwhile, Portland Thorns forward Deyna Castellanos also opted not to travel home to Venezuela for upcoming matches due to a “lack of clarity on the travel bans.”
