A healthy muskox calf was born at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, but his mother experienced complications due to a retained placenta. Executive director Jake Paleczny noted that the care team had to step in when the mother did not allow the calf to feed in the crucial hours following his birth. The team worked to ensure the calf received the necessary care and nourishment during this challenging time.
