YouTube is testing a new direct messaging (DM) feature for users aged 18 and up in Ireland and Poland, allowing users to share and discuss videos privately. This initiative follows a previous attempt in 2017, which was removed in 2019 to focus on public comments. While DMs are expected to offer some privacy, Google clarified that messages may still be reviewed for compliance with Community Guidelines. The feature, described as a “top request,” may see broader adoption now compared to its earlier iteration.
