Youngkin Can Remove Noncitizens from Virginia Voter Rolls

The U.S. Supreme Court ordered Gov. Glenn Youngkin to remove 6,303 noncitizens from Virginia’s voter rolls, following a state law since 2006 and an executive order issued by Youngkin in August. The Department of Justice sued Youngkin over the removals, which were upheld by the Supreme Court in a 6-3 vote, allowing the noncitizens to remain off the voter rolls pending further appeals. This decision was praised for upholding election integrity and federal law.
