The Nothing Phone 2 features a distinctive design with a transparent back that showcases its internal hardware in an aesthetically pleasing way. The design pays homage to tech devices from the late 1990s and early 2000s, such as Apple’s iMac G3 and Nintendo’s Game Boy Color. Additionally, the Glyph Interface on the back of the phone utilizes LED strips to display customizable lights and patterns for notifications, creating a charming and standout package in the world of smartphones.
In a review by Engadget’s Sam Rutherford in 2023, the phone was praised for its eye-catching hardware design and Monochrome UI software. While the phone does not focus on groundbreaking specifications, it was noted to be fast and equipped with convenient features like reverse wireless charging.
The Nothing Phone 2 operates on Nothing OS 2 (currently running version 2.5.3) on top of Android 14. It boasts a 6.7-inch OLED display, a 4,700mAh battery, and a pair of 50MP rear cameras (main and ultra-wide).
It is important to note that the phone is only compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile networks in the US, and is not compatible with Verizon, Sprint, Cricket, or other CDMA-based carriers. Nothing has officially introduced its handsets to America with the current generation of hardware, so future models may offer broader carrier support in the US.
