This warning comes just after a severe thunderstorm alert was lifted for the region. By late afternoon, cars were seen navigating floodwaters in Onehunga that reached door height. MetService meteorologist Juliane Bergdolt indicated that heavy rain is expected to commence at midnight and last into early Monday morning.
