WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus narrowly escaped death during Israeli airstrikes at Yemen’s main airport, describing the chaotic scene as people ran everywhere. Tedros and his team were completely exposed and lucky to avoid being hit by a missile while waiting to board a flight, with one U.N. crew member injured and at least three others killed. The attack, targeting Houthi rebels and Iran, was not aware of the U.N. delegation’s presence at the airport at the time.
