PHILADELPHIA (AP) — In the 1930s, archaeologists documented the Yazidi community in northern Iraq, capturing their daily lives through photographs that were rediscovered after the Islamic State’s devastation of the minority. A project led by doctoral student Marc Marin Webb has restored almost 300 photos, rekindling cultural memory and community ties for Yazidis now scattered globally.
