Nestor Cortes has been unavailable for the New York Yankees since being placed on the injured list in September, but manager Aaron Boone stated that there is a “good chance” he will be added to the World Series roster, pending a successful bullpen session on Tuesday. Cortes, who had a 3.77 ERA and 162 strikeouts in 174 1/3 innings this season, was sidelined with a flexor strain in his left elbow but has since recovered and is expected to be used as a reliever against left-handed batters in the World Series.
