Yacht-sized passenger boat runs aground in high surf off Hawaii beach

HONOLULU

A yacht-sized passenger boat named Discovery ran aground near Honolulu’s Kewalo Basin Harbor during high surf, with two crew members onboard, who were unharmed. The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the incident, which saw the vessel lose propulsion after being picked up by waves; efforts are underway to safely remove the grounded boat and inspect it before returning it to service.
