Serious gang tensions in two North Island regions, believed to be driven by drugs and an internal power struggle within the Nomads gang, have led to police being shot at during two incidents. In response, police have expanded a Gang Conflict Warrant to cover a broader area, granting them powers to search vehicles and seize firearms in Palmerston North and surrounding towns.
