An Auckland boy, Mason, 12, suffered severe dental injuries after hitting his front teeth on a bolt inside a hydroslide at Mt Albert Aquatic Centre on January 2. His mother, Tanya Rusher, reported that the family had gone swimming after spending the day at Mission Bay. The pool operators, Community Leisure Management and Auckland Council, acknowledged the incident’s distress and indicated that measures would be implemented to inform the public about the slide’s risks. This incident followed a previous injury where a man lost his finger due to a bolt on the slide.
