Auckland agent fined ,000 for misusing advertising funds

An Auckland real estate agent, Yu-Yuan (Lillian) Chen, has been fined a record $10,000 for misusing house-sellers’ advertising money, as determined by the Real Estate Agents Disciplinary Tribunal. Chen, formerly of Buy West Realty, along with her supervisor Diane Stevenson and the agency, was found guilty of misconduct and unsatisfactory conduct under the Real Estate Agents Act, with both Stevenson and the agency fined $7,500 each. The case was brought before the tribunal by a complaints assessment committee formed by the Real Estate Authority.
