XL Bully Owner Didn’t Anticipate Fatal Attack
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Ashley Warren, 41, is on trial at Chelmsford Crown Court for owning two XL bully dogs that fatally attacked 68-year-old Esther Martin in February 2024, shortly after the breed was banned in the UK. Warren claimed he never anticipated the dogs would harm anyone and described them as “loving.” He left Martin to care for the dogs while he filmed a music video, and upon learning of the attack, he rushed back to help her. Warren has pleaded not guilty to the charges related to the incident and acknowledges he did not have the required permits for the dogs.
