WW2 mystery solved as wreck of British sub that vanished killing 64 sailors is found | World | News

A British submarine, HMS Trooper, which vanished during World War 2 on a secret mission in Greece, has been found with 64 crew members onboard. The vessel disappeared without a trace while patrolling the Eastern Mediterranean, failing to return as scheduled on 17 October 1943. The Submarine Family of HMS Trooper stated that her loss was believed to be due to unknown circumstances during her mission near the island of Leros.
