WPP has announced a new policy requiring staff to work in the office at least four days a week, with additional requirements for two Fridays per month, starting in April, as stated by chief executive Mark Read. The decision was made based on data showing improved employee engagement and financial performance with higher office attendance levels, making WPP the first major advertising holding company to implement such a policy. Publicis and Omnicom currently have more flexible office policies, with Publicis Media having laid off workers in the US for not following return-to-work guidelines.
