In his New Year message, Workers’ Party (WP) chief Pritam Singh emphasized the party’s role as a “loyal opposition” in parliament in 2024, highlighting their focus on issues such as cost of living, housing policies, digital safety, anti-money laundering, and Income-Allianz deal debates. The WP, with eight MPs, aims to secure people’s support ahead of the upcoming General Election by promoting alternative views in parliament and advocating for improved policy outcomes beneficial to Singapore and its citizens. Singh also mentioned the party’s active participation in debates on the Platform Workers’ Bill and questioning the effectiveness of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) in advocating for workers.
